I offer four sizes of steel string guitar, an SJ, OM, 00 and Super Parlour. Each model of steel string guitar is braced with a Paulownia Carbon falcate bracing. Modern steel string guitars with incredible volume, sustain, projection and structural integrity. Aimed at contemporary finger style players, my guitars offer a new dynamic, range, richness and complexity to the steel string sound.
Small Jumbo
At 15 3/4” lower bout, the SJ is the largest guitar I make. I combine a stunning blend of power, richness and depth in this instrument. I have managed to strike a harmonious balance between these captivating qualities while maintaining the clarity and note separation that musicians seek in their instruments all the way up the neck. The falcate bracing offers a unique mid range presence to my instruments that give my guitars a full, rich and even frequency response. This guitar is a true testament to my commitment to crafting instruments that resonate with beauty and inspire musicians to create.
Orchestral Model
A modern take on the traditional OM. The Paulownia Carbon Falcate bracing and resonance tuning make this instrument an absolute power house with singing trebles and thundering basses. Amazing volume, sustain and projection that holds very evenly as you play up the neck, this instrument is extremely well suited to the finger style player and to the pick, It is responsive to the lightest touch, while not lacking headroom. It is a versatile instrument that in the right hands has the voice of a small orchestra.
Grand 00
I voice the Grand 00 larger and lower than what some might expect from an instrument of its size. It has a full, rich and voluminous sound that has beautiful clarity and projection in the trebles and a bass that is not over powering but still very present and rich. With Falcate bracing these qualities all hold very evenly as you play up the neck offering the player great balance and dynamic range. The size of the instrument is slightly larger than a traditional Martin 00, very similar to a small classical guitar. It makes for a lovely intimate, finger style instrument that is comfortable on the couch or in front of an audience.
Super Parlour
The Super Parlour (SP) is the smallest guitar I make at just 13 5/16” across the lower bout. Utilizing modal tuning techniques such as spectrum analysis and Chladi patterns (that I use on all of my instruments) I generally bring the voice of this instrument as low as I can get it, giving the SP a much larger and more open voice than most would expect from an instrument of it’s size. Conversely it can be voiced high to give it that crunchy, bluesy powerhouse sound. The SP is a lot of fun to build and has proven to be one of my most popular models.
